"St. Patrick's Day Bar Charts"

For St. Patrick's
Day, it seemed only natural to generate
some kind of Bar Chart. Your basic bar
chart (see graphic to left) is pretty
boring. Why limit ourselves to the same
old bar charts? We need to think
"out-of-the-bar chart". For example,
below is what I think of as a more
accurate bar chart... |

Alternatively, I thought for St. Patrick's Day I would do a TRUE bar
chart analysis of my drinking life. So below is The number of bars I
"frequented" throughout my life... |
 |
This chart has several key trends: By looking carefully, you can see I
had the fake ID when I was 17 and I spent many a
night at local pubs. My bar use dropped dramatically at age 19 when my fake ID
was confiscated - that was a long year. Naturally, I drank a lot when I turned
21 (nearly every day of that year) and it's fallen off fairly steadily as I got
older. However, you can see several major "up ticks": When I turned 40 - I drank
a bunch. I plan to do the same when I turn 50. And when I retire, I plan to
drink constantly. That is my drinking plan. Not many people take the time to do
this kind of planning.
But why stop there? Why limit ourselves to just "drinking" bar charts? Why not a
Candy Bar Chart... |
|
|
Or why not a Salad Bar Chart... |
|
|
Or why not a Sushi Bar Chart... |
|
|
I guess what I'm saying is: This St. Patrick's Day break out of that
PowerPoint Bar Chart rut that you're in and generate a few new Bar Charts of
your own. If you're having trouble, you can use one of my favorites (below): The
Bar Chart of Bar Charts... |

Have a great St. Patrick's Day! |
