"Fun with Venn Diagrams"
May 13, 2009
| Venn
diagrams were never a ton of laughs in
school, but that's because our teachers
never had fun with them! It was always
"A intersects B. B intersects C..." (See
diagram to right) So, I decided to apply
Venn diagrams to a wider range of
topics. For example, below is the Venn
diagram showing the intersection of the
set of companies that lost money last
year with the set of companies that paid
executives bonuses. Turns out that the
intersection is a set of 1 - AIG. |

Now, I applied the Venn diagram approach to my
marriage. The intersection of the set of women who would sleep with me more than
once and the set of women who I would sleep with more than once is again - a set
of 1 - my wife. Thank God I found her.

Finally, a 3-set Venn diagram.
The intersection of the set of people who believe in abstinence and the set of
teens with children with pretty large. If you add the set of all politicians, we
see that the intersection of politicians, people who believe in abstinence, and
teens with children is again a set of 1 - Sarah Palin.
